That photograph

THE photograph at the top of this page is one taken by Kevin Carter.

   In March 1993 Carter made a trip to Sudan. The sound of soft, high-pitched whimpering near the village of Ayod attracted Carter to an emaciated Sudanese toddler.

   The girl had stopped to rest while struggling to a feeding center, whereupon a vulture had landed nearby. He said that he waited about 20 minutes, hoping that the vulture would spread its wings. It didn't.

   The photograph was sold to The New York TImes where it appeared for the first time on March 26, 1993. Overnight hundreds of people contacted the newspaper to ask whether the child had survived.

   Twelve months after this photo was taken, Kevin Carter tragically took his own life.

What you can do

THIS website is about what you can do to end extreme poverty.

   The little girl at the top of the page is just one of millions who die each year from a lack of food, clean water and the most basic of medical attention.

   Hopefully, this website will have you take away the simple and FREE things you can do in order to stop the ridiculous body count of 25,000 deaths each day in the third world.

   This website will also provide you with the reasons why extreme poverty exists today in a world which is in abundance of food and basic medical supplies.

  Dear Bono assigns  blame to the organisations of the world called the 'press councils' and aims to lobby  these media accountability systems to take on a new role in enforcing mandatory reporting on all news mediums.
