You're meeting with the wrong people






THE 60-odd people below are the most powerful people in the world. It is not because they are rich or have influence over the media, it is what they are capable of accomplishing but are yet to do so.
These heads of the world's press councils can enforce their media's codes of ethics and introduce mandatory reporting on extreme poverty which would see the 25,000 daily deaths make it to the front pages of newspapers every day.
When Kevin Carter sold the photo of the Sudanese girl and the vulture to The New York Times back in 1993, the reaction from audiences was so great they influenced the attitudes of politicians and bureaucrats immediately.
Write to your local press council and make a complaint that you are not being informed of this absurd number of deaths.
